Our robust and scratch-resistant Machined Titanium case also boasts a transparent back, revealing the watch’s 347-grade open-face movement with a Moseley regulator, quick train, and going barrel. This magnificent piece also features a gold-inlaid “G.M. Wheeler” engraving, referring to the Elgin National Watch Company’s founder George Montague Wheeler. Finally, you can view the watch’s gold-plated gears and 17 jewels throughout its ¾ plate. We matched this one-of-a-kind watch with our comfortable, hand-crafted Merlot leather watch strap.
The Elgin National Watch Company initially produced this breathtaking watch in Elgin, Illinois, in 1911 — the same year the New York Public Library opened its Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, often referred to as the Main Branch or the 42nd Street Library. This important research library features over 2.5 million items and was declared a National Historic Landmark in the 1960s.
